Today, Zackery got his expander removed. It was painful experience for him. He wore a hole in one of the plastic covers on the right side of his mouth. So that made it extra hard for the doctor to remove the expander. Hence the red gums. It looks as if the gums started to grow over the expander. Poor kid. It now looks as if he has a cavity from that hole, but the doctor thinks it might just been a stain. I so hope so.
So now he can talk a little better, we go back next week to make a mold of his mouth so he can get a permanent retainer. Since he plays with his bottom one all the time we felt it would be best. This one will be much small than the on he had on.
