This is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. Just yesterday I was thinking of what makes me smile. The Smart Car, every time I see it I break out into a huge smile. Today I found another thing to add to my list of things that make me smile. This stop sign.
I live in this neighborhood, in fact my house is to the right of this very stop sign. We have lived in this house for 3 years in August of this year without a stop sign on this corner. During that time I have watched so many cars fly around this corner without the faintest thought of anyone (children on bikes included) coming down this street. The privileged I guess. Right up this street, to the left of this stop sign, is an elementary school. The parents who drive on this street that is packed with kids just speed and fly around corners. I remember so many times closing my eyes waiting for the sound of two cars colliding into each other. I have almost been the victim too. I tend to ride my brakes all the way down this street in fear of the person who flies around this corner.
To my surprise, today the city put up a stop sign. I was so happy as I was driving to my house this morning and saw this sign that I clapped all the way home and had a HUGE Smile on my face all the way there. Infact, I knew the minute I saw it that it would be my picture of the day.
Thank you God and the City of Murrieta, or whichever neighbor of my got the city to pay attention. Now there will be people who will roll thru this too, but now they can get a ticket.
