Today we drove up to Big Bear today to stay a few nights with friends. As my boys and I were at 4000 feet we hit major clouds. Going thru that was scary and I stayed really close to the cars infront of me. Once we hit about 7000 feet we came out of those clouds. I was able to stop at a turn out to take this picture. Where all those clouds are is supposed to be the valley of the mountains. If you look closely to the right you can see the road we just drove up. It is an ocean of clouds, beautiful but scary to drive thru.
On our way home we went thru those clouds again, but this time it started higher up and lasted probably as low as 2000 feet. It was the scariest I have ever felt in my life. We had no one in front of us or behind us when we hit the worst of these clouds. They were so thick I couldn't see infront of me at all. Imagine going down a mountain with lots of curves and turns and not being able to see in front of you. I road my brakes all the way down that hill going below 20mph. Once we got thru the thickest part we finally saw lights behind us which made us feel a little better knowing there were others on the road to help guide us. Or at least to not feel alone.
Once we found the other cars, or shall I say they found us. My youngest told me he had prayed to God that we would find other cars. And then they appeared... Thank you God for guiding me and my children down that mountain.
